Attendance and Absence Information
Start of the School Day
The School gates open at 8:30am each day and children can be left on the playground in the care of school staff from this time. Classroom doors open for our soft start at 8:40am.
The school day starts at 8:50am, at which point the school gates close. Any child arriving after 8:50am must be signed in by their parent, and enter school via the main entrance. Children arriving at this time will receive a Late Mark. Children arriving after 9am will need to be signed in by their parent. The attendance of these children will be marked as U in the register (unauthorised), in accordance with our guidance.
Reporting your Child's Absence
If your child will be absent due to illness you must report this by telephone only, by 9am. In your message you will need to provide full details of your child's illness/symptoms.
If your child is absent for more than a day, you will need to call on each day of their absence, unless you have reported a sickness bug, in which case children chould not return until 48 hours after the last episode.
On your child's return to school you will need to send a not to explain their absence. We can then authorise the absence. the absence remains unauthorised until this note is received.
